      The conductive grease dose have graphite in it. What we are trying to do is add small particles to only the graphite channels in the zebra stripes. These are carbon conductors. The channels next to these need to be clean as we don't want conductive materials on those clear ribs. Just cleaning with isopropyl will remove some of the material carbon but this will not last and eventually it will ghost again. After 6years so far it is still working good and I have not taken it apart again.

    If I repair any device with these zebra connectors I'm afraid that my device is done if the rubber contacts come off the LCD glass. Or is that not a big deal just put them back on? It looks like your fluke has channels for these conductive strips and the display just sits on to and the cover snaps in.

Unbeliever they have one with a stepper ready and hand held for single axis control? Perhaps confused but similar anyways.

    Simply cleaning can work, but graphite paste works the best. Basically any finely ground graphite will work. I have a can of pure carbon that i got from Sugar+sulphuric acid reaction (properly washed), but i suspect in a pinch finely ground pencil lead will work as well.

    • @HighTechSystems
      @HighTechSystems 7 лет назад

      Yes you can take off the carbon strip off of the LCD and flip it around left to right clean with rubbing alcohol LCD and carbon strip. There is orientation it is just a conductor. Then try again. The LCD needs to be held in place by the plastic if it is loose that can cause issues.

      I just tried them, the display upper side still not appear. I cleaned with 70% alcohol. I have not give up yet and i'm trying another methode. I think the problem comes from the carbon channels. Any suggestion please well come. Thanks and regards

    • @cbbattlestar
      @cbbattlestar 7 лет назад

      clean both with spirits/alcohol put the carbon channels in place against the board you will see were they fit in and it doesn't matter which way you put them in, lay the screen in place and press lightly, you can turn the meter on to see if the display is the right way round if it is just assemble as is, the plastic cover that holds the screen in place should provide enough pressure for it to work

    • @HighTechSystems
      @HighTechSystems 7 лет назад

      Clifford is right you can just put the channels back in place and the pressure will hold it in place. Do not put anything on the LCD side except rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol.

    I was under the impression that the work piece should be kept in the center of the 4th axis rotation. This seems like its above the pivot point. Does is just depend on the machine?

    • @marshalcraft
      @marshalcraft 10 лет назад

      a perfectly centered work piece were the work piece center of mass lies somewheres on the 4th axis would then have no net torque on the 4th axis. otherwise there would be and hence a tendency to rotate towards it's lowest gravitational potential energy state.

    Paul Campbell, Yes you can do 5 axis machining without the steppers hitting the spindle. You can rotate the 5th axis around on the mounting plate. I do have an extension for the Z to offset it so you can use the Y travel better and see what you are cutting. Z envelope is 6.75" from the spindle to the center of the rotary. Minus your tool that you are using and that is your Z cutting area. I will put up another video when I can. For those asking about why Steppers. I had them in stock and they are cheap. You can use Servo's if you want.
